Power of Music
Power of music is a motivator. The power of music is an escapism. The power of music is soothing to the soul. The power of music is universal.
So you may be asking how does music help a victim of bullying?
It is a source of relaxation and escapism, but it can also bring out the musician (or other desired art within him/herself (s)he never knew (s)he had) in the victim. It is best because for the victim because (s)he is not thinking of the bully. (S)he is focusing on the music or the mood (s)he is in and bettering him/herself as the music plays.
I know this to be true; it’s happened to me. I started out journaling my feelings after the bullying began, and that turned into song lyrics I started writing. And I still have them to this day. I have two huge binders with sheet protectors filled with these. It helped me get through some really tough times.
So, find the artist within yourself. It doesn’t have to be music. It can be drawing or painting, sculpting or pottery, reading or writing. Free your mind from the bullying. Be imaginative. Be creative. You will surprise yourself! And just one day in your future you could be doing it as a living – what you were meant to do, what you were born to do!
